God’s timing is different than ours, and there’s often tension between where we are and where we believe we should be. In that time, God wants us to be disciplined. Whatever He has us doing now, He wants us to spend that time learning, developing, and preparing for what He has set aside for us. Even Jesus had to wait 18 years between when He was first compelled to teach and when God officially called Him to teach. What are you waiting for right now? How do you think you could be more disciplined while you wait?
While we wait, we inevitably begin to doubt whether or not God will provide what we believe is headed our way. It may not even be us doubting whether He can, but sometimes it’s whether or not we believe He will do it for us. Have you ever doubted that God will come through for you in a particular situation? What was that time like, and what did you learn from the experience?
God’s calendar works differently than ours. The key part for us is to be prepared for when the divine time comes. Similar to the parable of the 10 virgins waiting on the groom in Matthew 25:1-13. For some of us, maybe there’s a degree program we should be in as we wait for the opportunity God has called us into. Or preparing our minds or bodies for a challenge ahead. Whatever it is, we all have a date with God for our next blessing, and it’s on us to be sure we’re ready when the time arrives. What is something you’re currently doing to prepare for your divine time?
