WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as the Holy Spirit moved them.

(2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thes. 2:13)

The Godhead

Our God is one, but manifested in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal. God the Father is greater than all; the Source of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter. The Son is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning. The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal.

(Phil. 2:6; John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14;  John 1:1; John 1:18; John 15:26)

Jesus

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, without sin, completely God and completely man. We believe Christ died for our sins and experienced the human pain of a torturous cross,

was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples.

(Luke 1:26-35;  John 1:18;  Isai. 7:14; Isai. 9:6; 1 Corin.15:14;  Rom. 4:25)

Man, His Fall, and Redemption

Man is a created being made in the likeness and the image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God…”  and “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one…” . Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil, give His life and shed His blood to restore man back to God. Salvation is the gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God.

(Rom. 3:23; Rom. 3:1; Eph. 2:8-9;    1 John 3:8)

Salvation

Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that produces repentance.

The new birth is necessary for all men, and when fulfilled, produces eternal life.

(2 Cor. 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-5)

Water Baptism

Baptism in water by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance of baptism is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

(Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12; Acts 8:36-39)

Baptism In The Holy Spirit

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received with new birth. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is evidenced by the gift of

speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance.

(Matt. 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 19:1-6; Acts 2:4)

Spirit-Filled Living

We believe the Holy Spirit inhabits and empowers every believer to live a life that brings glory to God. His purpose on earth is to provide every believer with the tools necessary to exemplify the life we are called to live according to the commands of Jesus Christ and gives every believer a relentless passion to witness for Jesus Christ. We believe the Spirit-filled life is a life of separation from the world, perfecting holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith. (Eph. 5:18; 1 Cor. 6:14)

Communion

We believe in the Table of the Lord, commonly called Communion or the Lord’s Supper, for believers.

(Matt. 26:26-28; 1 Cor. 11:28-32)

Spiritual Gifts

We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as manifested in the Early Church.

(1 Cor. 12:1-11; 1 Cor. 14:13-15,18)

Marriage

We believe in the sanctity of marriage as established by the Holy Scriptures, that God created marriage, and that God’s plan for marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10-11; Eph. 5:22-33)

Divine Healing

Healing is by the sovereignty of God for the ills of the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith, and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ, and is the privilege of every member of the Church today. (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:24; Matt. 8:17; Isa. 53:4-5)

Giving & God’s Blessing

We believe generosity is a biblical and natural response to the atoning and regenerating work of Jesus. According to scripture,

giving should be willing, cheerful, regular in pattern, generous, and sacrificial. We believe the Tithe (the first 10% of one’s income)is a biblical outline for a giving lifestyle that spans both the old and new testaments.

We believe that total-life prosperity is the will of God for every believer.

(Deut. 8:18; Mark 12:42-44; Acts 4:32-35;1 Cor.16:2; 2 Cor. 8:2-9; 9:6-15)

Eternal Life

We believe in eternal life for believers and eternal punishment for unbelievers. (John 5:24; John 3:16; Rev 20:10-15)

Resurrection of the Just and the Return of Our Lord - We believe that Jesus Christ will come again to earth, personally and visibly to fulfill history and the eternal plan of God. We wait with great anticipation for the catching away of believers known as the rapture. (Matt.16:27; Matt. 24:36-42; Acts 1:11; 1 Thes. 4:15-18; 1 Thes. 5:1-4; Rev. 22:20-21)
