"From Spectating to Serving"

  1. Being a servant is one of the primary charges Jesus gives His followers. It was one of His greatest characteristics, and He desires it to be one of ours. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case for many Christians. There’s an old adage that “20% of the people do 80% of the work”. Why do you think service is such a hardconcept for Christians to grasp? What could the Global Church do to encourage more to obey Jesus’ call to serve?

  2. In Matthew 27:32, we learn about a man from Cyrene named Simon. He responded to a call to action, and as a result, he will be forever memorialized as the man who helped Jesus carry His cross. We all have our own cross to bear, but love often calls us to help bear each other’s cross. Can you share about a time that someone helped you bear your cross? Who could you be a blessing to by helping them carry their cross?

  3. When we serve others, we give them a glimpse into who Jesus is. Jesus’ ministry wasn’t effective because He argued over different philosophical and theological issues. Jesus appealed to people because of the love that He showed through serving others. That usually was what opened their hearts to hearing the Good News. What could you do to engage more in serving others?
