I Praise

1) After David got captured, he pretended to be something he was not out of fear of what would happen if he revealed who he was. These days, we call that “code-switching.” Have you ever felt compelled to show your authentic self out of fear of the consequences? How did it work out? What did you learn from this experience?

2) We Christians should all be like a thermostat and not a thermometer. This means that when we step into a room, we should change the temperature of the room, not the other way around. Can you think of a time you felt compelled to change to match those around you, but you brought your authentic self instead? How did it work out? What did you learn from this experience?

3) In Psalm 34, David praised the Lord after he got released by the Philistines. All our blessings may not be as big as being freed from a life-and-death situation, but each day we all have something for which we can praise God. It's easy to get caught up in our lives and not slow down to thank Him, but let's change that now. What’s something going on in your life that you could praise God for right now?
